SLab researcher Leonardo Corbo presents the article “Emergence and evolution of an entrepreneurial ecosystem: the case of Porto” at the EuroMed Conference in Malta.

Leonardo Corbo participated in the Euromed conference, in Malta, between 12th and 14th of September. He presented the paper “Emergence and evolution of an entrepreneurial ecosystem: The case of Porto”. The presentation addressed challenges related to the emergence and evolution of an entrepreneurial ecosystem in countries considered as peripheral to entrepreneurship, with a focus in the city of Porto. The preliminary results of the project, led by Professor Leonardo Corbo, indicate that in order for an entrepreneurial ecosystem to emerge, it is extremely important that one or more actors take the role of business center. However, for an entrepreneurial ecosystem to grow, additional factors such as a broad range of savvy investors and a strong level of interaction among ecosystem actors are needed.
