The fundamental objective of EQUIS, linked to the mission of EFMD, is to raise the standard of management education worldwide.
EQUIS assesses institutions as a whole. It assesses not just degree programmes but all the activities and sub-units of the institution, including research, e-learning units, executive education provision and community outreach.
Católica Porto Business School is accredited by EQUIS. It is the only business school in the north of Portugal and the third in the country to receive such recognition. The mission of this accreditation is to raise the standard of management education worldwide and highlight the leading business schools at global level. Católica Porto Business School now joins the shortlist of 87 institutions in Europe and 170 throughout the world in a universe comprised of 16 000 institutions accredited by EQUIS.
This accreditation recognises the distinctive quality of all the programmes offered by Católica Porto Business School and indicates that the School complies with the strictest quality standards in all its activities including learning, research, internationalisation and interaction with the corporate world.

The MBA programmes available at Católica Porto Business School - International and Atlantic - have been accredited by the prestigious Association of MBAs (AMBA).
AMBA is an international accreditation authority specialised in postgraduate training programmes for executives, namely MBAs (Master of Business Administration). Católica Porto Business School secured the AMBA accreditation for its supply of MBAs and joined a restricted group of about 200 business schools in over 70 countries that hold this accreditation.
